You will lead deep-dive workshops, conduct thorough analysis of the current state (including hardware, operations, and workloads), and produce strategic deliverables. This is a senior-level role requiring strong technical expertise and the ability to guide clients through complex platform transformations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in a senior solutions or platform architect role.
- Core Technology: Deep expertise in Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization.
- Virtualization: Strong background in traditional virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and migration strategies.
- Infrastructure: Expertise in enterprise infrastructure including compute, storage (systems and network), and networking.
- Communication: Exceptional workshop facilitation, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Documentation: Demonstrable experience producing high-level executive summaries and detailed technical architecture reports.
- Analysis: Strong analytical skills to assess workloads, platform readiness, and operational maturity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant Red Hat certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Architect, OpenShift Administration).
- Experience in a client-facing or consulting role.
- Hands-on experience with multi-cluster OpenShift management.
- Knowledge of specific backup, disaster recovery, and automation tools within the OpenShift ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Migration Strategy: Design the high-level architecture for the target OpenShift Virtualization platform, including node types, networking, storage, integrations, HA/DR, and migration automation.
- Assessment & Documentation: Review, revise, and document the client’s current state, including business drivers, platform architecture, workloads, and OpenShift readiness.
- Workshop Facilitation: Lead workshops and mentoring sessions to establish a common understanding of OpenShift Virtualization, including operational differences, capacity management, HA/DR capabilities, and security strategies.
- Hardware & Workload Analysis: Conduct a detailed hardware review for reuse viability (nodes, networking, storage) and perform a comprehensive virtual machine workload analysis to categorize applications.
- Deliverable Production: Produce an executive summary slide deck and a detailed report containing the workload analysis, high-level architecture, and a complete migration journey and roadmap.
